The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has promoted sweepers and peons for the first time in its 85-year history. On Monday, a piping ceremony was organized at many CRPF offices including the CRPF headquarters in Delhi, in which 217 employees were given new ranks. Earlier this year, the central government had given the green signal to the promotion of 2,600 personnel working in the ministerial cadre like sweepers, cooks and water carriers. These personnel are an important part of the CRPF's infrastructure. After the government's decision, CRPF has promoted personnel of this level for the first time.

Promotion of sweepers and cooks for the first time in the history of CRPF: After 85 years, 217 employees of the lowest rank of the force got new rank
12 employees at the CRPF Headquarters were promoted by giving them new ranks.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has promoted sweepers and peons for the first time in its 85-year history. On Monday, a piping ceremony was organized at several CRPF offices, including the CRPF headquarters in Delhi, in which 217 employees were given new ranks.

Earlier this year, the central government had given the green signal to the promotion of 2,600 personnel working in the ministerial cadre like sweepers, cooks and water carriers. These personnel are an important part of the basic structure of CRPF. After the government's decision, CRPF has given promotion to personnel of this level for the first time.
CRPF DG said- there is no lack in their dedication and service CRPF Director General (DG) AD Singh and senior officers gave these personnel the uniform of their new rank and congratulated them in the presence of their families. The DG said that every member of the CRPF, regardless of his post, plays a vital role in ensuring the security of the country. The initiative to promote these personnel is a proof that dedication and service can come from every corner of our force.
He said that in this ceremony, 217 personnel were promoted from constable to head constable. The personnel working on these posts were never promoted before. They used to retire from the same rank in which they were recruited after serving for about 30-35 years.
CRPF has 3.25 lakh personnel on-duty CRPF has around 3.25 lakh personnel currently in service. It is known as the country's premier internal security force and is currently deployed mainly in three combat areas - Left Wing Extremism, counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir and counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast.
