The officers who conducted the raid said that power thieves are now stealing electricity through remote by installing sensors in smart meters.

Out of 10 people stealing electricity in Patna city, now 6 cases are using this technique. Electricity thieves steal electricity by bypassing the meter by disrupting the reading of the smart meter with this technique. For information, let us tell you that last week, PESU's STF team raided two different places in a single day and imposed a fine of Rs 88,348 and Rs 6,76,494 on two people for the crime of electricity theft.

RJD's dharna against installation of smart meters
